Our beloved parents, Stephen Roy Barnes, DO, and Susan Elaine (Proffer) Barnes passed away together on July 25, 2022, after almost 32 years of marriage, joined together on July 28, 1990, in Tulsa, OK.

Stephen was born on Sept 11, 1954, in Enid, OK, to Jim and Oleta Barnes. He enjoyed teaching Oklahoma State University's Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine, gardening and pickling, baking banana bread, baseball, woodworking, being a grandpa/great grandpa and collecting Pez dispensers and baseball cards.

Sue was born on April 1, 1953 in Van Nuys, CA, to Morris and Dorothy Proffer. She enjoyed being an entrepreneur with StyleDots, teaching wreath making, bragging on her kids, and being a grandmother and great grand mother. As a couple, Steve and Sue were the embodiment of being loving to others and reflected a love for their Savior. They were always focused on pointing others to Jesus, spending time with family, and loving on friends, neighbors, and others far and wide.

They are survived by daughter Christina Darden, son Aaron Book, daughter Amanda Arthur, son James Barnes, Steve's sister Wendy Hardgrove, Sue's brother, Paul Proffer, and Sue's sister, Betty Benivegna, and predeceased by Jim and Oleta Barnes, Morris and Dorothy Proffer, Chuck Proffer, Joe Proffer, and Bob Proffer.

Services will take place on Friday, August 5, 2022, at 11:30 AM in the Sanctuary at Asbury Church in Tulsa, OK.
