Timothy James
Joseph Whalen
Dec 28, 1946 — Sep 22, 2019
Timothy James Joseph Whalen, 72- year old resident of Tulsa, OK, passed away on Sunday, September 22, 2019 at Grace Living Center in Jenks, OK. He was born on December 28, 1946 in Cedar Rapids, Iowa to Orville and Mary Whalen. Tim graduated from McClain High School and later served his country during the Vietnam in the U.S. Navy for 2 tours of duty aboard the aircraft carrier Intrepid. He was also in the Air Force where he served for 16 years and retired in 1999. He was married to Linda Whalen, the love of his life on October 28, 1972. They were happily married for 45 years, until she passed away in December 2017 that literally broke his heart to lose her. For those that really knew Tim Whalen, he was a big jokester that loved playing pranks on everyone, he was a jack of all trades that could do anything he put his mind to, and he lived life to the fullest. He enjoyed spending time with his family and especially his grandkids. He loved fishing, hunting, collecting cars, hats, coats and ink pens. He especially loved camping with his wife and family and hanging at the lake.
He is survived by his daughter, Tammy Jo McDonald and husband Larry McDonald of Tulsa, OK. Son, Shawn Whalen and wife Tina Whalen of Glenpool, OK. Brother, Ronnie Whalen of Chouteau, OK and numerous other relative and friends. He had six grandchildren and five great grandchildren that he adored deeply and was so proud to be their Poppy.
