Vail G. Wilcox, age 89, died peacefully on Sunday, January 30. Born May 1, 1932 in Indianapolis, Indiana to Gaither and Margaret Garrett. Vail lived most of her school years in Detroit, MI and graduated from University Liggett High School in Grosse Pointe Woods, MI. She was predeceased by her husband, Richard P. Wilcox, after 66 years of marriage. She is survived by sister-in-laws Beverly Wilcox and Betty Hastings; sons, Mike (Julie) & Tim; daughter-in-law, Jane; grandchildren: Rick, Jennifer, Michael (Olga), Garrett, Stefan, Nick (Morgan), Braden, and two great grandchildren, Rose and Lincoln. Vail was also preceded in death by her son, Phil, and brother Don.

Vail and Richard met and married in northern Michigan and lived in Tulsa. Vail was an avid golfer and enjoyed many rounds of golf during her prime. She was a long time member of St. John's Episcopal Church and served on the alter guild for some time. She was also a Gillie for Gilcrease Museum serving as a docent for several years. Vail enjoyed traveling and many of the family's memorable summer vacations were spent golfing and boating, water skiing and canoeing on lakes and rivers in northern Michigan.

The family would like to thank the staff and care givers at Legend at Mingo Road and Traditions Hospice for their compassionate and loving care of Vail, especially during the last several months.

A family visitation will be held from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm, Monday, February 7 at Stanleys Funeral Home at 3959 E. 31 ^st Street in Tulsa. Memorial service will be held at 1:00 pm, Wednesday, February 9, at St. John's Episcopal Church at 4200 S. Atlanta Place in Tulsa.
