Victor E. "Vic" Hairston

Victor Edmund Hairston, “Vic”, age 93, died on Sunday, April 26, 2026 at his home in Tulsa. He was born February 17, 1933 in Bartlesville, the son of W.O. and Ethel Hairston. Vic married Roberta Claudine Blankenship on June 1, 1953 in Delaware, OK. She proceeded him in death on October 3, 2025.

Vic attained his Bachelor’s degree in accounting from Oklahoma State University and his Masters from the University of Oklahoma. However, he was always a Cowboy. He enjoyed attending OSU basketball games, playing golf and spending time with family and friends.

Vic served a distinguished 25-year career in the Air Force attaining the rank of Lt. Colonel. He was stationed at numerous military bases throughout the United States and several foreign countries. He gave his wife and children the world. After retiring from the military in 1979, Vic began working for Utah Power & Light Company as head of internal audit. He retired a second time in 1990.

Vic is survived by his sister Sandra Brown of Nowata, OK, his children, Dee Ann Glowacki (David) of Helena, MT., Michael Hairston (Jill) of Tulsa, and Janis Preese of Deer Creek, CO. He left behind 7 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Private graveside services for the family will be held at Memorial Park Cemetery in Tulsa
