Daniel James Johnston, Oklahoma City, Okla., age 29, was born on June 15, 1982, in Edmond, Okla. He left this life on Tuesday, February 28, 2012, in Las Vegas, Nev. Daniel was preceded in death by his wife, Tara Shay Johnston, age 29, and his daughter, Allison Sue Johnston, age 16 months, both of whom left this world February 26, 2012. Daniel attended Edmond Santa Fe High School, and graduated from University of Central Oklahoma in 2011 with a bachelor's in accounting. He worked at Earl's Rib Palace in Oklahoma City and previously managed a Sonic Restaurant in Edmond, where he met his beloved wife. Daniel loved music, movies and outings with his beautiful family, as well as spending time with his twin brother Brian and life-long friends. Daniel was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, David Johnston and Barbara Johnston Vincent; his maternal grandparents, Jesse and Kathleen Hammond; and paternal great-grandparents, Roy and Lois Stanfill. He is survived by his mother Susan Marie Hammond, Oklahoma City, and her fiancé Noel Frederici, Bethany, Okla.; father Charles Stanfill Johnston and his husband Kelly Kirby, Tulsa; siblings , twin Brian Roy Johnston, Edmond; Breck Kirby, Tulsa; Rachel Hicks and her husband Josh, Tulsa; Nathan Kirby and his wife Liz, Middlebury, Conn.; Erin Kirby, Denton, Texas; mother-in-law, Jennifer Sue Crisp-Lisby, Cashion, Okla.; uncles and aunts, David and Laura Johnston, Severn, Md.; John and Jaylene Johnston, Tulsa; Sandy and Mike Stegen, Phoenix; Tom and Carol Hammond, Phoenix; Patricia Hammond and Gail Albers, Estes Park, Colo.; Michael and Priscilla Hammond, Indianapolis; Linda Kirby and David Bowman, Wichita, Kan.; Suzi Back, Joplin, Mo.; sisters-in-law, Maranda Larkin, Arizona City, Ariz.; Ila Sarah Crisp, Iowa; Jaimie Faulkner, Arizona; brother-in-law, Jeremy Crisp, Iowa; and countless other relatives and friends. Visitation will take place Thursday, March 8, 2012, 4-7 p.m., at Demuth Funeral Home, 1145 W. Britton Road, Oklahoma City. Funeral Service will be 10 a.m. Friday, March 9, 2012, at First Christian Church, 201 E. 2nd St., Edmond. Interment will follow at Memory Lane Cemetery, Harrah, Okla.
